The Orange County Library System needed an HTML template for their transactional emails that clearly communicated important information to users, including due dates and late fees.
I designed an initial template and tested on major email clients to address cross client compatibility issues inherent in HTML email creation. I then worked with other members of the team to adapt the template to each type of transactional email the organization sends, while maintaining consistent style conventions.
These templates were used to send automated notices to library users about account related issues like fines, holds, due date reminders, etc. The templates were featured in a paper about our team’s process of automating email notices, presented at the 2015 Innovative User Group Conference.
